This statistic shows the level of importance of movies avoiding racial stereotypes according to adults in the United States as of May 2019, sorted by ethnicity. The findings revealed that when deciding which movie to watch, African Americans were more likely to consider it important that the film avoids racial stereotypes, with 36 percent saying that this was a very important factor to them. This figure was more than double the share of White respondents who said the same.
