Capital granted for mortgage-secured house purchases in Italy 2004-2022
The amount of capital granted for mortgage-secured loans for house purchases in Italy reached the second-highest value on record in 2022. With 50.3 billion euros, the amount of mortgage lending in that year was only slightly lower than in 2006, when 50.9 billion euros were granted to homebuyers. In 2013, the Italian mortgage market saw the lowest value of capital, at 17.2 billion euros.
