From the beginning of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic (SARS-CoV-2) and until March 30, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain helped Spanish citizens abroad return home. With about 9,5 thousand people, Rabat (Morocco) was by a wide margin the origin of the highest amount of repatriated Spaniards, along with 570 people who flew from Buenos Aires (Argentina) or the around 500 citizens who did so from Valletta (Malta).
