Coronavirus TV and movie viewing: popular genres U.S. 2020, by ethnicity
A survey held in March 2020 revealed that comedy was the most popular TV and movie genre among U.S. adults, with 23 percent of Hispanic respondents saying that they had watched comedy content the most since it was recommended to stay away from public gatherings due to the coronavirus outbreak. Genre preferences varied across ethnic groups, with white adults more likely to watch drama shows, Hispanic respondents most likely to watch horror or sci-fi, and African American adults preferring action to comedy.
