Production of mangos in South Africa 2000-2019
The production of mangos in South Africa as of 2018/2019 was estimated at roughly 11 thousand metric tons, a huge decrease in comparison to 2017/2018. From 2000 onwards, drastic fluctuations with a declining trend were visible in the volume of mangos produced in the country. The drop can be linked to the fact that mangos are a subtropical crop, which requires special weather to be able to grow, restricting the area where it can be planted in South Africa.
