Judicial effectiveness sub-score of South Africa 2017-2020
As of 2020, the judicial effectiveness sub-score on the Economic Freedom Index for South Africa was 38. This illustrated a decline of 1.3 points from the previous year. Throughout the four years under review, the sub-score surpassed the African continent average. However, when compared to the world average, the South African effectiveness of judiciary value was higher in 2017 and 2018, while it was lower in 2019 and 2020.
