Bank credit to private industry in Nigeria 2021, by sector
In the fourth quarter of 2021, credit allocated by the bank to the private industry in Nigeria experienced an increase. For instance, the mining and quarrying sector received almost 72 trillion Nigerian naira (NGN) (roughly 162 billion U.S. dollars), increasing from around 64.8 trillion NGN (146 billion U.S. dollars) in the previous quarter. Among the four sectors considered, the largest credit was allocated to the mining and quarrying sector, followed by the oil and gas sector.
