Contribution of travel and tourism to GDP in Mozambique 2019-2020
In 2020, travel and tourism contributed 3.4 percent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Mozambique. This meant a value added of nearly 450 million U.S. dollars. The sector's contribution declined considerably in comparison to the preceding year, mainly due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Before the outbreak, tourism had a share of 6.2 percent in the country's GDP, which represented around 824 million U.S. dollars.
