Value of purchased crop chemicals in Kenya 2016-2020
Spending on crop chemicals increased in Kenya to nearly 14.2 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), around 125 million U.S. dollars, in 2020. Compared to the previous year, the value of purchased chemicals grew by roughly 30 percent. Overall, the purchase of chemicals for crop protection has strongly expanded in Kenya since 2016. That year, 5.6 billion KSh (49 million U.S. dollars) were spent on the purchase of such items.
