The source explained the index as being the product of: "[they] summed up the mentions for each country during the time period considered, i.e. we use the total mentions and total engagement over a period of 13 months. These were then standardized by dividing by the number of internet users, in order to account for each country's size, and normalized to have comparable index values. The standardized index ranges from 0-100 where a value of over 70 is considered high."
