Electricity access rate in Libya 2000-2020, by area
In 2020, the entire urban population of Libya had access to electricity. Remarkably, this had been the case in the urban part of the country since 2000. In contrast, access to electricity in the rural parts of the country reflected a stark decline, as only about 15 percent of the population in those areas had access to electricity in 2010, compared to over 99 percent in 2000.
