In the fiscal year 2022, the fraudulent transactions reported by fund transfer service providers in Japan amounted to 290 million Japanese yen.
Fund transfer service providers are nonbank companies that offer an alternative to traditional money transfer services. Licensed businesses are divided into three different categories based on the maximum amount that can be sent per transfer.
