Freedom of expression score in Kenya 2000-2022
Kenya scored 69 points in the Global Expression Report (GxR) in 2022. This was higher compared to the previous year, when the country scored 67 points. Over the observed period, the freedom of speech and openness of the society was at its best from 2011 to 2012, when it received a score of 71. Moreover, the score was at its lowest in 2000 and 2001, with 54 points. GxR ranks countries based on the openness of the society, with a higher score being given to countries with more freedom of expression.
