Freedom of expression score in Uganda 2000-2022
In 2022, Uganda scored 24 points in the Global Expression Report (GxR) for the second consecutive year. Moreover, this is the lowest score the country has attained over the observed period. Additionally, the openness of society and freedom of speech has been following a decreasing trend since the country's peak in 2000 at 43 points. GxR ranks countries based on the openness of the society, with a higher score being given to countries with more freedom of expression.
