The Government of Canada allocated over five billion U.S. dollars in clean electricity programs starting in 2023 and 2024. Smart Renewable and Electrification Pathways Program (SREPs) investment accounted for 4.5 billion U.S. dollars. In 2022, the share of renewables in Canada's electricity mix totaled almost 70 percent.
