Premature deaths related to air pollution in Czechia 2021, by pollutant
Exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was the leading cause of premature death due to air pollution in Czechia, having accounted for about 8,500 premature deaths in 2021. This was followed by exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), which was attributable to approximately 930 premature deaths.
