Texas accounted for the largest cumulative electricity capacity in interconnection queues in the United States in 2022. The southern state had approximately 121 gigawatts of solar power capacity and 85 gigawatts of energy storage projects waiting to be connected to the grid.
Overall, roughly two terawatts worth of electricity storage or generation capacity were in interconnection queues in the U.S. that year.
