GHG emissions from wildfires in Peru 2001-2022
Wildfires in Peru produced 103 thousand metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (ktCO₂e) in 2022, an increase of 20.5 percent from the previous year. In 2022, there were more than 15,000 wildfires in Peru. Between 2001 and 2022, the highest GHG emissions attributable to wildfires occurred in 2012, at 201 ktCO₂e.
