Private equity divestments in selected European countries 2016
The statistic illustrates the value of private equity divestments in selected European countries as of 2016. Private equity is the OTC provision of equity capital through private or institutional investments with the participation of companies in another company for a limited time in order to generate financial benefits. It can be seen that total private equity divestments in France amounted to more than 8.75 billion euros at that time. The United Kingdom (UK) and Germany completed the top three, with private equity divestments of approximately 7.85 billion euros and 3.97 billion euros respectively as of 2016.
