Change in GDP in Catalonia, Spain and the Eurozone 2007-2023
GDP refers to the total market value of all goods and services that are produced within a country per year. Variation in volume indicates decrease and growth, or in this case, recovery of GDP. Spain and Catalonia were below the Eurozone average between 2010 and 2013, but Catalonia's GDP volume growth was similar to that of the Eurozone by 2014 and both Spain and Catalonia surpassed it from 2015 onwards. In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the economy, the GDP of both Catalonia and Spain registered a negative variation that exceeded ten percent.
