Year-on-year change in residential property sold in the Netherlands 1996-2023
Property transactions in the the Dutch housing market started to decline in 2021, after a long period of growth, only briefly interrupted in the second half of 2018 and the first half of 2019. In September 2023, residential transactions fell by approximately 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Residential property prices are expected to decrease in 2024, according to an October 2023 forecast.
