Impact of the coronavirus pandemic at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
The largest airport in the Netherlands is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. In 2021, only 25.5 million passengers used Schiphol to travel to and from the Netherlands. Compared to pre-pandemic numbers, it was a big decrease compared to 71.68 millions passengers. In 2020, most of these passengers came from Europe, as the passenger volume amounted to approximately 15.1 million. 1.7 million passengers came from North America, whereas 1.1 and 1.3 million people came from Asia-Pacific and South America, respectively.
Revenue growth Schiphol Group
Schiphol Group is a Dutch company and 100 percent shareholder of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Lelystad Airport. Their annual revenue increased from 2016 onwards until the coronavirus pandemic started, with a total of approximately 688 million euros in 2020.
