In 2020, receiving an end of fixed term tariff notice from their energy supplier was the main reason prompting British consumers to switch suppliers or compare tariffs, mentioned by 44 percent of survey respondents. A notice of price increase was the second leading reason, engaging 30 percent of respondents.
