This statistic illustrates the estimated share of uninsured vehicles in the United Kingdom (UK) as of October 2016. Although the number of uninsured drivers in the United Kingdom has been estimated to have decreased from two million in 2005 to approximately one million as of 2016 there were a number of key regions where uninsured vehicles continued to be a problem. As of October 2016 it was estimated that over six percent of vehicles registered in London were being driven uninsured. That accounts for an estimated 191 thousand uninsured vehicles out of a total estimated 3.1 million vehicles in the capital.
