Turkey: main health problems of children up to the age of six 2022

Affecting around 31 percent of Turkish children under six years old in the last six months in 2022, the main health problem was upper respiratory tract infections which include illnesses such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis among others. Diarrhea followed as the second leading disease with over 29 percent of the children in this age group experiencing it in the country.

The source obtained information with the different questionnaires related with the diseases and accidents in the past 6 months before the survey date for the children in 0-6 and 7-14 age groups and kind of health care services that taken for these discomforts. The information was derived related with general health status, chronic diseases, functional abilities in carrying out daily activities, personal care, using of health care services, using of medicines, vaccinations and measurements and height and weight values, smoking and alcohol consumption, etc. for the individuals aged 15 and over.
