Public opinion on abortion in Latin America 2021

In 2021, most Latin Americans surveyed said abortion should be allowed in certain circumstances, such as rape. At least 35 percent of respondents agreed with that statement, whereas the second largest share of respondents was registered among those who said that abortion should be allowed as long as the woman so decides. This opinion segment has increased at least 11 percentage points since 2016 and 2017, when it stood at 19 percent of respondents.
