Veolia operates its water and wastewater services for household use and industrial processes, and includes recycling treatments. As a multi-faceted company, Veolia also deals with the collection and recycling of waste. In 2018, Veolia reported that its hazardous and liquid waste revenues accounted for about 21 percent of its waste division revenue. That year, the multinational environment services company generated around 19 percent of its revenue from commercial and industrial collection services.
Energy services are also one of Veolia’s major business activities, which include managing the energy demand of production facilities as well as the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The company had approximately 18 percent of its employees in energy operations. As they are focusing on low carbon solutions, the company recently developed research projects for innovations in the use of organic waste as a renewable energy resource. Veolia is offering services that provide a permanent supply of green energy, which is considered carbon neutral and more efficient.
