With regards to supply costs, the direct fuel costs of non-domestic gas supply amounted to 4.4 million British pounds in 2017, while expenses of domestic gas supply reached 488 million British pounds. In addition, the direct costs of electricity amounted to 764 million British pounds and 605 million British pounds for domestic electricity and non-domestic electricity respectively.
In 2017, 68 percent of electricity customers and 70 percent of gas customers were satisfied with Scottish Power's service, however only a significantly smaller share of customers would recommend the energy supplier. The same year, Scottish Power received nearly 547 thousand complaints.
When it comes to the 'Big Six' energy suppliers in the UK, total earnings from energy generation amounted to 938 million British pounds in 2017. Similarly, the total profit from domestic energy supply came to 910 million British pounds while profit from non-domestic energy supply reached 221 million British pounds.
