Alternative finance in Belgium, or loans granted to companies that did not come from banks, almost excusively belonged to investment funds. Factoring, leasing and consumer credits combined made up around five percent of non-bank investments in the country. Crowdfunding was not mentioned in this overview, as figures on this market were relatively difficult to find for Belgium. The latest available crowdfunding figures for 2017 showed a decline.
