Tree cover loss in Morocco 2020, by dominant cause
As of 2020, tree cover in Morocco extending to an area of over 3,180 hectares was lost due to shifting agriculture, which is related to small and medium-scale agricultural activities. Forestry, which includes losses from plantation and natural forest harvesting, with some primary forest deforestation, affected more than 178 hectares of tree cover. In the same year, wildfire caused tree cover losses amounting to around 124 hectares.
