In Italy, there is a considerable high prevalence of male students in scientific and technological faculties. In Italy, female students make up around 37 percent of all students in such faculties. According to a recent survey conducted among young Italians, the lack of female models in the scientific world represent one of the main reasons why men are still the majority in these faculties. In addition, these faculties qualify for jobs in which men are treated and respected more than women, according to the second largest group of respondents.
