A scenario in which no new natural gas pipelines are built in the United States between 2024 and 2050 would have impacts on the country's natural gas prices, production, consumption, exports and capacity. Compared to a reference case which considers all current and planned interstate pipeline projects, the no new pipeline builds case would lead to a 10 percent increase in the Henry Hub price in 2050. Dry natural gas production would decrease by about five percent under a no new pipeline builds scenario.
