The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is compiled monthly to measure changes in various goods and services purchased by households all over Japan to analyze the movement of prices in time series. It is collected based on retail prices of each municipality and item obtained from the Retail Price Survey, using the Laspeyres-type formula.

CPI of all items excluding fresh food and energy (including electricity, gas, manufactured and piped liquefied propane, kerosene, gasoline).
