In 2023, approximately 11.5 thousand people without employment in Japan committed suicide. Those included unemployed individuals, welfare and pension recipients, homeless people, and stay-at-home wives and husbands. Among those with jobs, people in administrative or managerial positions had the highest number of self-inflicted deaths.
